Here are some of my mood boards.

To give you a little insight into me...

Hi Everyone. I'm overjoyed at the love I've been shown since I began my freelance journey back in 1994.

Let me tell you a little about myself...

I'm a Castle Donington girl, born and bred however since 2016 I now live in Melbourne, about 10 minutes up the road with Anthony my Husband, along with my beautiful rescue dogs.

To say that I am passionate about hair is an understatement. As a little girl I received a "Girls World" for Christmas, which was the best present ever as I would spend hours and hours thereafter on her hair. By the age of 15 I was hair modelling for my Brother at Keith Hall (where he has gone on to become a Director) and it was right then that I knew that hair was my vocation in life.

So, twice a week after school I would attend Keith Hall staff training nights and was a Saturday girl at the same time, to get me ahead at an early age. Needless to say after finishing school I went straight into an apprenticeship at Keith Hall, where I quickly established an enviable reputation and client base.

Later I moved to a senior position at a salon closer to me in Castle Donington, however while my Brother remains salon based as Director at KH Hair I've always firmly believed, and strongly maintain that there is a need for a professional, luxury, high-end, quality hairdressing experience at home. I set out on my journey to deliver this in 1994 and have never looked back since.

I constantly maintain my training to the very highest standard by attending premium education mainly in London with the biggest names in the industry. I also belong to, and am the regional representative for the Freelance Hairdressers Association, who are a fabulous group of like minded people. They offer support services, events, training and advocacy. I am also a member of several hair business coaching groups.

One of the best things about being freelance is being "brand neutral". It enables me to pick and choose from a wide variety of different hair products without being tied to a major brand. This means I always get to use the best of the best at all times on my clients.

My clients often ask me which service I prefer to deliver - cutting or colouring. That's a difficult one as I love to create beautifully blended Balayages, Blondes, Ombres and contoured highlights. Equally, I do have to admit that I have a real passion for cutting and re-designing hair.

In recent times I have taken a keen interest in making Vici Hall Bespoke Hairdressing more sustainable and environmentally friendly. To that end I have invested in the "Salon Sustainability" Programme and am the first mobile hairdresser in the Derby area to do so. This involves recycling my plastic, foils, PPE and chemicals through the organisation, who process it all in the UK and send their profits to charities. By doing this I really feel I am doing my bit for the environment and for good causes.

What's really cool is getting to know my clients on a personal level. I consider them all to be my friends. I'm always very honoured and privileged to be welcomed into their homes, their lives, their families and of course love meeting their furries.

I am super-excited about catching up with you soon. I have lots of really cool training and ideas in the pipeline, that I can't wait to share with you as we go along your hair journey together...
